Cheryl Patricia "Patty" (Norquist) Chappell, 78, of Troy passed away 2:53 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

There will be no funeral services held. Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Patty was born November 4, 1947, in Dyersburg, daughter of the late Roger Norquist, Sr. and Pauline (Sparks) Norquist. She retired as a registered nurse from Northwest Tennessee Regional Health Office in Union City. Patty enjoyed crossstitching, reading, cooking, shopping and playing cards with her friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Wagner and husband Joe of Obion and Emily Cox and husband Corey of Troy; five grandchildren, Kaleigh Guess and husband Cole of Ringold, Georgia, Abby Wagner of Nashville, Bryce Leverette and Barret Cox both of Troy and Macey Brown and husband Hunter of Martin; two sisters, Diane Sanders and Debi Rudd both of Troy; her sister-in-law, Tina Norquist of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Norquist, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Rudd and David Sanders; and one nephew, Chad Rudd.
