Patsy Gale Scribner, 74, of Union City, passed away 2:22 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015, at her home surrounded by family members and her beloved pets.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be: Josh Barner, Matt Barner, D.J. Virgin, Mark Roberts, Yates Scribner and William Davis.
Patsy and her twin brother, Ronald, were born Thursday, January 23, 1941 at the former Fitz-White Clinic in Jackson, Tennessee. Her parents were the late Boonie and Leon (Smith) Roberts. She married Sammy Scribner on Friday, July 8, 1960. He died July 1, 2013.
Patsy had worked at the former Red Star Drug Store, the former Reelfoot Packing Company cafeteria, and the former Salant and Salant factory, all located in Union City. She also was a sitter with the elderly before her retirement. She was a fan of the Memphis Grizzlies and the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved cooking and was especially known for her delicious mouth-watering pies. She was a Christian.
She is survived by her four children: Anita Barner, Donna Smith, and Steve Scribner, all of Union City, and Stephanie Virgin of Cayce, Kentucky. She is survived by six grandchildren: Josh Barner and Matt Barner, both of Union City, Sgt. Zach Barner, serving with the United States Army in South Korea, Candace Scribner of Union City, and D.J. and Madison Virgin of Cayce, Kentucky. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers, Ronald Roberts and Charles Roberts.
