Pat Robertson's Obituary
Patricia Lilly Robertson, 69, of Hornbeak went to the Lord peacefully, March 10, 2014, surrounded by her family, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City following a brief period of declining health.
Patricia was born August 26, 1944, in El Paso, Texas, daughter of the late Fred and Josephine (Paz) McVay. She was raised and educated at Mt. Carmel Elementary School and graduated from Ysleta High School in 1962. She met her future husband, Donald Lee Robertson, while he was in the Army stationed in Fort Bliss in El Paso. They were married August 31, 1963, and just celebrated 50 years together. They made their home in Hornbeak and she has been there the remainder of her life. Pat worked at Rolane and later at Salant & Salant, and taught piano at her home while raising her two sons. As her children grew she began working for Easter Seals in Martin for many years and later became secretary and then bookkeeper for Black Oak Elementary School in Hornbeak. Pat was a faithful and faith-filled member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City, rarely missing a weekend Mass. She volunteered her time for many years cleaning at the church and rectory and played the organ there for many years. Patricia was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to many.
Mrs. Pat, as most knew her, is survived by her husband, Donald Lee, of Hornbeak; her two sons, Lawrence Jude and his wife, Kimberly, of Smyrna and their children, Cameron and Adam, her son Stephen Louis and his wife, Helen, of Newport, New Hampshire and their children, Elizabeth Merritt and her husband Andrew, Mary, Michael, Patrick, Rebecca, Anna, Joseph and Simon Robertson; her great granddaughter, Hope Veronica Merritt; her siblings, Larry McVay and his wife, Mary, Frederick McVay, Simon McVay, and Rosemary McVay and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Ponticello will officiate. Burial will follow in Hornbeak City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Charles Harris, Jimmy Harris, Ronny Yoes, Tony Henson, Charles Yochum, Michael Robertson, Cameron Robertson and Adam Robertson.
