Mrs. Parthenia Christine Fowlkes, 91, of Troy passed away 1:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Josh Fowlkes, Jake Fowlkes, Clint Wright, James Goodman, Robert Perkins and Austin Jefferson.
The family requests that memorials be made to
John Paul II Medical Research Institute.
Mrs. Fowlkes was born September 11, 1925, in Obion County, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Minnie Lee (Hickman) Williams. She married Robert Ray Fowlkes July 2, 1945. He preceded her in death August 16, 2005. Parthenia was strong in her Christian faith. She enjoyed sewing, working in her flowers, reading and cooking for her family. Mrs. Fowlkes had been employed at Dixie Gun Works and the former Troy Manufacturing.
She is survived by her four children and the spouses of three, Ken and Debbie Fowlkes of Union City, John and Debra Sue Fowlkes of Troy, Mike and Melissa Sharpe of Outlook, Washington and Michelle Mills of Jackson; eight grandchildren and the spouses of seven, Chris and Danielle Sharpe of Pasco, Washington, Todd and Johanna Sharpe of Grandview, Washington, Amber and Dan DeRuyter of Zillah, Washington, Josh and Monique Fowlkes of Dyersburg, Jake and Kim Fowlkes of Union City, Jenny and Clint Wright of Panama City, Florida, Robert Perkins of Jackson and Ashley and James Goodman of Obion; and twenty one great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Savannah Sharpe; one sister; and two brothers.
