Mr. Norval Lee Jonas, 72, of Union City died 5:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Brian Petty and Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Bobo, Brian Petty, Brandon Petty, Brandon Middleton, Barry Keathley and Bryan Keathley.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Two Men's Sunday School Class at Second Baptist Church and Finis Guy Burress, Dwayne Ervin, Ken Mathias and Geoff Payne.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Jonas was born May 30, 1940, in Vincennes, Indiana, son of the late Gerald and Clementina (Butler) Jonas. He married Odessa (Mullins) Jonas July 28, 1963. She survives. He was a retired truck driver and a route salesman for the former Colonia Bread Company for many years. He had also been a self-employed dump truck operator for Ford Construction Company. He was a United States Army veteran. A member of Second Baptist Church and the Adult Two Men's Sunday School Class, he was also an avid duck hunter and fisherman.
He is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jenifer and Jim Hollingsworth of Franklin, Kristi and Brian Petty of Trenton and Abby and Roger Bobo of Medina; seven grandchildren and the spouse of one, Megan (Petty) and Brandon Middleton, Conner Bobo and Zach Bobo, all of Medina, Brandon Petty and Courtney Petty, both of Trenton, and Ethan Hollingsworth and Tyler Hollingsworth, both of Franklin; and two brothers, Paul Horrall of Haines City, Florida, and Roscoe Rehwald of Vincennes, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Everett and Ida (Obermeyer) McCormick; and his brother, Marvin McCormick.
