Nicky Barnes 1948-2018
Mr. Nicholas "Nicky" Barnes, 70, of the Clayton community passed away 7:00 a.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Dan Blake and Brother Dale True will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Rance Barnes, Jr., Walker Barnes, Thomas Barnes, Nick Dial, Bryan Key and Lance Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Coleman, Randy Roberson, Dan Blake, James "Bubba" Stanfill and Billy Craddock.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Nicky was born January 11, 1948, in Obion County, son of the late John Matt and Minner Jane (Muse) Barnes. He married Jennifer (Johnson) Barnes December 24, 1965. She survives. Nicky was a retired machinist for the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and co owner with Bill Coleman of the former Blue Steel Partners. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and greeter. Nicky had served as a deacon at Reelfoot Baptist Church and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Charles Meade of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rance and Patti Barnes of Union City and Micah Barnes and Heather Edwards of Martin; one sister, Yolanda Morgan of Union City; one brother and sister-in-law, Genie and Letha Barnes of South Fulton; nine grandchildren and the spouses of two, Rance and Taylor Barnes and Walker Barnes all of Union City, Thomas Barnes of Knoxville, Nick and Diana Dial of Troy and Jennan Dial, Chloe Meade, Brendan Meade and Addie Meade all of Union City and Aviendha Barnes of Martin; one great grandson, Bennett Walker Dial of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Elliott Paul Dial.
