Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother John Carroll will officiate. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Burton was born September 9, 1939, in Obion County, daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Morie (Griggs) Parnell. She married Ray Burton on January 1, 1960. He survives. Nelda retired after 22 years of service with the Obion County Clerks office, was a 1957 graduate of the former Mason Hall High School, and was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church.

She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mechelle and Jim Tuck of Hendersonville, Tennessee; her son, Mark Burton of Mason Hall; two grandsons, Vinny Tuck and Max Tuck both of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and her mother-in-law, Mary Edna Burton of Union City.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Meloneye Burton.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Maxie Hardin, George Wade, W.T. Sims, Brent Griggs, Lennie Burton, Dale Burton, Bruce Pope and Bryan Pope.
