Yates October 12, 1951 and together they had a son, Robert Alan Yates, who tragically passed away at age 15. J.C. preceded her in death May 7, 2001. Later in life she met George Davis and they were happily married until his passing December 1, 2012. Nancy,92, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the home of her brother George in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Nancy loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. She was a tower of strength and a devout intercessor who took the role very serious and intervened for so many people. Nancy was an encourager and uplifter who exclaimed her love for the Lord always. She surrounded herself with the people who loved the Lord and his goodness all while fellowshipping, eating, and laughing with her family and friends. Nancy's giving heart and words of wisdom from the Lord will be missed. She was a member of Healing Faith Worship Center in Union City and retired from the former Brown Shoe Company after 25 years of service.
She is survived by one sister, Valorie Johnson of Union City; five brothers, David Owens of the Pleasant Hill community, Tom Owens of Union City, Chuck Owens of Woodland Mills, George Owens and wife Molly of O'Fallon, Missouri, Jim Owens and wife Sue of Gadsden, Alabama; her sister-in-law, Brenda Owens of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Alan Yates; one sister, Ann Cook; three brothers, Gene Owens, Cecil Owens, and Dale Owens; and four sisters-in-law, Barbara Owens, Sharon Owens, Easter Owens and Linda Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Long will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday.
