Ms. Nancy C. (Higby) Allison, 79, of the Shawtown community passed away 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Bob Montgomery and Rev. Jimmy Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Dale Treece, Donny James, Danny Johnson, Brad Woody, Tim Smith, Marshall Fennel, Josh Lovell and Mack Lovell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barrey and Letetia Kirk, Harold and Alma Riddle, Dale Ross, Brent Petty and Kari Smith.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.
She was born March 12, 1940, in Union City, daughter of the late Arch and Cora (Treece) Higby. She retired from the University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension Service in Union City after 42 1/2 years of service. She was then employed by Nix A Mite Exterminators for 11 1/2 years. Nancy worked with many farmers, homemakers, 4-H members and agents thru the county extension agency. She worked with the Obion County Junior Livestock Association from 1960 to 2007. Nancy was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Anna Allison of the Shawtown community; her granddaughter, Macy Beth Allison of the Shawtown community; two step grandsons, Josh Lovell (Megan) and Mack (Joan) Lovell all of Union City; and four step great grandchildren, Gavin Lovell, Arabella Lovell, Mackenzie Lovell and Mayalynn Lovell all of Union City.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tanya Carol Allison; and two brothers, George E. Higby and Bobby F. Higby.
