Mildred Ellen Jones, 97, of Obion passed away 2:29 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, at The Waters of Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. Kevin Thomason will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Brad Blakley, Darrel Butler, Bobby Lucas, Scottie Jones, Steve Jones and Skyler Jones.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred was born October 13, 1926, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Frank Turney and Thelma Gray (Brewer) Palmer. She married James Oliver Jones November 18, 1944. He preceded her in death March 16, 1991. Mildred had been employed at the former Falkoff's in Union City and was a member of Obion Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Blakley of Obion; one son, Lynn Jones and wife Tabitha of Troy; three sisters, Oletha Dunahoo, Evelyn Jackson and Wanda Wisdom all of Obion; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Turney Jones; one grandson, Chuck Jones; one great granddaughter, Hannah Renee Blakley; her son-in-law, Ray Blakley; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Jones.
