Mrs. Mildred Marine Johnson, 91, of Union City passed away 2:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Manuel Cemetery near the Walnut Log community.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Key, Heath Key, Shad Gregory, Eric Gregory, Josh Gregory, Rance Barnes, Micah Barnes and Dustin Gooch.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 30, 1923, in Arlington, Kentucky, daughter of the late Leslie Lee and Addie (Elliott) King. She married Bennett "Rass" Johnson on March 27, 1939. He died August 28, 1999. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson had made their home at the Walnut Log community for many years prior to moving to Union City. They became widely known for their handicrafts and regional woodcrafts. They were invited to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. to display their arts for the state of Tennessee at the 1986 National Arts Festival. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson had appeared in numerous publications, brochures and film productions about Reelfoot Lake. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

She is also survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jennifer and Nicky Barnes of the Clayton community, Shelvie and Johnny Key and Donna Gregory all of Union City and Reta and Terry Gooch of Springfield, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kathy Johnson of Tiptonville; one brother, Charles "Buddy" King of Union City; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy Johnson and Ronnie Johnson; and one sister, Dathol Gray.
