Michael Wayne "Mike" Thompson, 67, of Troy passed away 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion. Brother Melvin Poe will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mike was born September 28, 1957, in Muskegon, Michigan, son of the late Grady Thompson and Paula Jean (Parker) Thompson. He married Sharon (Mathis) Thompson April 26, 2004. She preceded him in death November 8, 2014. Mike had been employed at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and had worked at various meat processing plants in the area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Paula Thompson of Troy; his daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Blake Cheatham of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Ashley Thompson of Kenton; two sisters, Betty Cloar and husband Johnny of Hornbeak and Lisa Williams and husband Bobby of Union City; three brothers, Larry Thompson and wife Jana, Robin Thompson and Paul Thompson and wife Cindy all of Union City; and four grandchildren, Madikate Cheatham and Coleman Cheatham both of Union City and Adley Thompson and Linley Thompson both of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.
