Mrs. May Viona Bond, 89, of Union City, died 7:45 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bond was born December 6, 1920, in Perry County, daughter of the late William Lenord and Clara Elizabeth (Cook) Roberts. She married Guy Ransom Bond on November 5, 1942. He died March 5, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Rodgers of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Connie Bond of Union City; her sister, Blanche Tynes of Huntingdon; five grandchildren, Brian Bond of Jackson, Jenny Guye Ambrosio of Holiday, Florida, Dana Fussell of Troy, Keta Jo Stephen of Clarksville and Josh Rodgers of New Port Richie, Florida; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Althea Davis and Mavis Morgan and four brothers, Ralph Roberts, Ray Roberts, Ed Roberts and Jimmy Roberts.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.

Pallbearers will be Brian Bond, Josh Rodgers, Fritz Fussell, Tim Stephen, Craig Roberts, Terry Tynes, James Vinson and Steve Calhoun.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Journey of Faith Building Fund at Calvary Baptist Church , 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
