Matthew Raymond Phifer, 32, of Union City passed away Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday at First Pentecostal Church of Union City. Rev. Dwayne Uzzle will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Union City from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Newel Wallace, Junior Adams, Brandon Qualls, Madison Uzzle, Eric Williams and Aaron Baker.

Matthew was born March 26, 1993, in Union City, son of Roger Lynn and Bonnie Ruth (Harrington) Phifer of Union City. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Union City.  Matthew enjoyed fishing, video games and wrestling.

He is also survived by his brother, Roger W. Phifer of Union City; his half-sister, Nickey Canoy of Union City; and his grandmother, Bonnie Sullivan of Grand Junction, Colorado.
