Mary Belle Thornton's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Belle Thornton, 80, of Union City died 12:06 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009, in the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday at The Etheridge House in Union City. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate.

Mrs. Thornton was born October 19, 1929, in Los Angeles, California, daughter of the late Maurice Thomas and Sarah Emiline (Green) Davison. She married Earl Thornton on July 7, 1957. He died June 28, 2000. She was an avid card player, she loved to read and had been a member of the former Pleasant Hill Community Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Johnson of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Jane Abbott of Union City and Nancy Nichols of Red Bluff, California; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Thornton.
