Mrs. Mary Ruth Johnson, 87, of Troy passed away 3:38 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Funeral services were conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Angie Howe officiated. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery near Obion.

Mary Ruth was born April 10, 1933, in Dyer County, daughter of the late Everett Dee and Rena (Sikes) Boswell. She married Leaton Lamar Johnson August 15, 1949. He preceded her in death July 29, 2017. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson were the owners and operators of the former Johnson Service Station in Troy. Mary Ruth enjoyed playing bingo and getting her nails manicured while a resident of Obion County Nursing Home. She was a member of Troy Church of Christ.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane Terry of Union City, Linda Wilson of Tullahoma and Rita Grisley (Dennis) of Hermitage; one brother, Wayne Boswell (Connie) of Dyersburg; one sister, Brenda Herr of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Gary "Bubba" Holt, Tracye Heatherly, Shane Wilson, Angie Jenkins, Tiffani Doyle, Lynne Barrett, Jennifer Halliburton and Frank Barrett; 32 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Billy Wilson; four sisters, Louise, Lois, Laverne and Janice; and three brothers, Delbert, Bobby and Glen.
