Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Nichols, 91, of the Shawtown community passed away 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Rick Stone, Bill Stone, John Hartnup, David Hugh Keefe,Reid Yates and Jim Atchison

Mary was born January 14, 1932, in Obion County, daughter of the late Ellis Lee and Ada (McIlwain) Jenkins Rowling.  She married James C. Nichols June 17, 1950.  He passed away December 1, 2008.  She worked for Kmart as an advertising manager for 39 ½ years.  Mary was a member of Cobbs Chapel United Methodist Church where she was president of Seniors Friends and was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 196 in Hornbeak.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Adams of Lake Park, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Stone Cranford and Katherine Hartnup; and two brothers, Harold Jenkins and Robert Jenkins.
