Mary Ann Hale, 78, of Kenton passed away 10:46 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her home.

Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City. Father Carl Gregorich will officiate.

The rosary will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements. Funeral arrangements to be determined in Gladstone, Michigan.

Mary was born April 19, 1946, in Escanaba, Michigan, daughter of the late Ned and Eva (Thivierge) Short. She married John Hale February 17, 1968. He preceded her in death May 3, 1999. Mary had been employed as director of religious education at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone, Michigan and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City.

She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Stigler (Tony) of Kenton, Karen Reynolds (Don) of Titusville, Florida and Jackie Hintz (Joe) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; one son, Ken Hale (Nicole) of Stoughton, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Kayla Reynolds, Nicholas Reynolds, Eva Dwyer (Kasey) and Kasey Brooks (Ely); she was close to the following step grandchildren, Jocelyn Potter (Chris), Anthony Stigler and Jacob Stigler (Samantha); four step great grandchildren, Hope Potter, Madi Potter, Aurora Stigler and Milo Stigler; one sister, Neva Short (Keith) of Chandler, Arizona; one brother, Pat Short (Mary) of Taos, New Mexico; and two sisters-in-law, Betsy Salonen (Bob) of Iron Mountain, Michigan and Sally Short of Sunland, California.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dan Short.
