Mary Ethel Douglas, 94, of Union City passed away 6:26 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018,
at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Terry Neal will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Tim Partin, Lane Partin, Reed Hurst, Dillion Forrester, Dalton Long, and Steve James.
Mrs. Douglas was born February 16, 1924, in Sandstone, West Virginia, daughter of the late
Franklin Matthew and Mary Ethel (Thompson) Gunnoe. She married Paul Raymond Douglas February 24, 1945. He preceded her in death June 14, 1997. She managed the former Reelfoot Packing Company's restaurant and was in the restaurant and cafeteria business for over thirty years. She was a member of the former Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Miles Avenue in Union City.
She is survived by one daughter, Deanna Turner of Union City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald and Karen Ann Douglas and Raymon Douglas all of Union City; one sister, Joanne Cole of Princeton, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Jeffery Turner of Fern, Alabama, Christopher Douglas of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tim Partin of Woodland Mills, Andrew Douglas of Zionsville, Indiana, Sherri James of Union City, and Lee Ann Long of South Fulton; fifteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Douglas; and ten brothers and six sisters.
