Obituary

Mrs. Mary Nell Cunningham, age 73, of Troy passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, in her home.
Mary Nell will be remembered most fondly by her friends and family for her enthusiasm and passion for sewing, quilting, wagon trail riding at Wranglers Camp and conversation. Her friends and neighbors knew her as the little lady with the huge heart who lived her life with great and untiring energy and a positive outlook that never faded throughout her life.

Mary Nell was born April 1, 1936, in Hornbeak, Tennessee, to Virtle and Roxie Lovett. She is survived by sister Frances Brown and brother Dwight Lovett. She is predeceased by sister, Peggy Sepanski.

Mary Nell married Jerry Cunningham
September 21, 1957. The two made their home in the Troy area for 51 years. Their children include daughter Mary Lynn Barker, spouse Scott Barker and son Paul Cunningham, spouse Julie Cunningham. Her life was blessed with five grandchildren; Caleb Barker, Molly Barker, Kelsey Barker, Eli Cunningham and Sam Cunningahm; and five great grandchildren; Brady Moore, Olivia Barker, Clara Brooks, Laurel Barker and Natalie Barker.

Services will be held Wednesday April 29th at Troy Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. with funeral services immediately following. Mary Nell will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Caleb Barker, Al McCullough, Larry Cunningham, Ricky Dugger, Jodie Baldridge and Shane Powers.

Honorary friends include Jiggs and Jo Barker, Bobby and Pat Hall, Jackie and Betty Joyner, Larry and Eva Preuett and Anna Mae Muse.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that honorary donations be made to the Obion County Cancer Agency, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.

The family would also like to thank friends and neighbors for their love and support during this time.
