Mary "Marti" (James) Owens, 62, of Springville passed away 6:40 a.m. Sunday, January 21, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Randy Stephens will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Joey James, Jamie James, Armie James, Allen Marcum, Dennis Littrel, Jody Adams, Tony Fry and Rudy Davis.

Marti was born March 20, 1961, in Union City, daughter of the late Prather "Jack" and Mary Sue (Treece) James. She retired in 2023 from the Henry County School System where she served as purchasing agent for 36 years. Marti was active in her community and enjoyed going out on her pontoon boat on Kentucky Lake and riding her golf cart. She was kind, caring, funny, sarcastic...all just when you needed it, a shoulder to cry on, loyal friend, wonderful caregiver, champion family member, amazing mother and unbelievable grandmother "Na". Marti was a member of the American Legion Post 89 in Springville and was a member of Russwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Kirbi Watson and husband Brad of Buchanan; two brothers, Ron James of Springville and Don James and wife Lana of Mason; she was "Na" to her three grandchildren, Falynn Watson, Layken Watson and Brance Watson all of Buchanan; one niece, Leslie Anne Manley of Mason; and two nephews, Joey James of Springville and Jamie James of Paris.
