Martha Ann Whaley, 77, of Hornbeak passed away 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Obion.

Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Neal Hendon, Emery Whaley, Jack Whaley and Jake Weatherly.

Martha was born May 13, 1941, in Trimble, daughter of the late Cleve and Carmen (Peal) Newell. She retired after 20 years of service as kitchen supervisor at the Obion County Sheriff's Department. Martha was a member of Hornbeak Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Shirley of Obion; one son, Raphe Whaley of Union City; two sisters, Dorothy Dennison of Newbern and Cathy Frost of Obion; five grandchildren, Neal Hendon of Columbia, Molly Weatherly of Halls, Emery Whaley of Martin, McCall Whaley of Newbern and Jack Whaley of Union City; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Jackie Whaley in 1997; two sisters and two brothers.
