Mrs. Marie Smith, 90, of Union City passed away 10:20 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Union City. Rev. Judd Mowery and Rev. Hugh Barksdale will officiate. Entombment will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Frank Brown, Glen Heatherly, Gary Hamilton, Tim Partin, Bobby Berner and Derek Stanley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis and Shirley Byassee, Ferrell and Sue Nipp, James and Charlotte Smith, Robert and Jenny Bagwell, Bobby Baker, Buddy Roberts, Katherine Roberts, Gary Lewis, Kevin Lewis and Lupita Berner.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 5576 Mt. Zion Road, Union City, Tennessee 38261 or the charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Smith was born October 8, 1925, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Lonnie and Florence (Boone) Gray. She married Leslie "Bobby" Smith July 22, 1950. He preceded her in death October 28, 2003. Ms. Marie had engaged in farming with her late husband, had been employed as a teller at Farmers Exchange Bank, and had been a customer service representative at the former Sears & Roebuck in Union City. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Tarkington and Royce Stanley of Union City; two grandchildren, Chris and Kim Bailey of Troy and Mark Tarkington and Traci McIntosh of Union City; three great grandchildren, Chance Bailey, Megan Bailey and Colton Bailey all of Troy; and her long time special care giver, Laura Blakely of Rives.
