Obituary

Mallory Tatum Sowell went home to be with the Lord and all the Angels on June 8, 2021. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her Mother and Papa by her side. Mal was born on her Mother's birthday, November 3, 1985 in Memphis Tennessee. She was the daughter of Johnny and Deanna Sowell, of Germantown Tn and Rececca and JD Sanders of Troy Tennessee. They survive.

A CELEBRATION of Mallory's incredibly blessed life will be held on Saturday, June 12, with visitation beginning at 12 and services at 2 P.M. at Edmaiston-Mosely Funeral Home in Union City. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Obion. Bringing balloons is optional but encouraged.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Sowell, David Sanders, Josh Sanders, Robert Thompson, Kris Hopper, and Taylor Barnett.

Mallory attended school at Martin Tn, Sharon Tn, Columbus Ms., and graduated from Franklin Tn High School.

Mallory loved life with a passion and was one of the most precious, loving, and happiest children growing up. She was known for her smile that would light up a room and giving hugs to strangers. She loved everyone she met from the first second. She was courageous, strong, and loved life and everyone lucky enough to share it with her.

Mallory enjoyed doing normal things with her family and friends. One of her favorites was riding on a golf cart while her Papa played golf. In fact, she had a circle of close golfing buddies everywhere she lived, especially in Martin Tn., Columbus Ms., and Hobbs NM. She was welcomed into those very competitive golfer's groups and became just one of the boys. Some of those golfers remain extra special to her.  She loved shopping, going to concerts, picnics in the park, or just swimming with her "Bestie Mom" Deanna and Dad.

She spent much of her time in porch swings, 4 wheelers, and anything else that moved. Go, was among her favorite words to hear. She also watched lots of kids' movies and listened to music. She loved to dance and treasured holding balloons. She spent quality time with her sister Courtney riding on a golf cart, in Court's car, hanging out with her at home, and even fishing.

Her most precious time was spent cuddling with her Mother Becky. If Mallory could talk, she would have told everyone her caregiving Mother was the center of her universe.

In addition to her parents, Mallory is survived by a sister Courtney Sowell of Troy, her brothers Adam Sowell of South Fulton Tn, David (Nikki) Sanders of Nashville, Tn, and Josh (Mary) Sanders of Troy, Tn., her nephews Ryan Sowell, Justin Sowell, Miles Sanders, and Christopher Sanders and a niece Hollie Sowell.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Faye Lawrence of Corinth Ms, and James and Louise Lyons of Obion Tn.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation , 3015 E. New York Street, Suite A2-#285, Aurora Illinois 60504.
