Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams and Rev. Drew Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Hawks, Ryan Stone, Shane Powers, Matthew Gray, Butch Massengill and Tommy Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Benny McGuire, Ed Mason and members of the Obion County Highway Commission.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to The American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312; or The American Heart Association , P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
Mr. Cook was born May 8, 1931, in Obion County, son of the late Grady Wilson and Rosie Mai (Macom) Cook. He married Sarah Lou (Stone) Cook on March 14, 1958. She died November 2, 1993. He attended the Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the 51 Couples Sunday School Class. He was the current chairman of the Obion County Highway Commission which he had served on since 1978. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Cook) Hawks of Union City; two grandchildren and the spouse of one, Franklin and Abbie Hawks and Jessica Hawks all of Union City; his brother, Jerry Cook of Troy; three great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews, Chris Cook of Troy, LaMonica Connell of Martin, Jeff Stone of Union City, Jim Moore Stone of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jan Mitchell of Germantown, Mark Stone of Cordova, Missy Cook of South Fulton, Roy Cook of Southaven, Mississippi and Tammy Selby of Clarksville; and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Sue Cook; and his brother, Billy Cook.
