Mr. Luther Daniel Ransom, Sr., 85, of Hornbeak passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother James Gunter will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Luther was born March 15, 1936, in Hornbeak, son of the late Rice A. Crafton Ransom and Lucille (Robinson) Ransom. He married Patricia (Dove) Ransom August 2, 1963. She survives. He was a welder for 21 years for the former Lear Siegler and American Metal Company in Union City. He retired from Kohler after 22 years. Luther raised over 90 peach trees and loved being involved with the Flea Market in Lake County. He was a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was baptized on May 23, 2021.

He is also survived by two daughters, Teresa Hutchison (James) of Troy and Sandra Basham (T.J.) of Murray, Kentucky; three sons, Danny Ransom of Evansville, Indiana, David Ransom of Hornbeak and Timothy Ransom of Hornbeak; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Hurley Ransom of Woodland Mills.
