Mrs. Lula B. Gargus, 75, of the Shawtown Community, died 3:41 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, in the emergency room at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was the retired dietary supervisor of The Brethern Home in Flora, Indiana and a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Gargus is survived by two daughters, Tonja Kay Cottingham of Indiana and Marsha Lee Holien of Texas; her son, Mark Allen Gargus of Guatemala; two step-daughters, Ruthie McKeever of Indiana and Carolyn Brooks of Missouri; two step-sons, Larry Gargus of Arkansas and Allen Gargus of South Carolina; four sisters, Betty Hodge of Florida, Dixie Lancaster and Mary Turnpaugh of Indiana and Delores Milligan of Texas; her brother, Mike Milligan of Indiana; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover A. Gargus who died June 4, 2003, two sisters, Thelma Emery and Pat Lanning and her brother, B.J. Milligan.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church . Brother James Robert Gunter will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
