Mr. James Lewis "Luke" Alexander, 68, of the Shawtown Community, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Jamil Homra, Kyle Homra, John Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, Cody Hale, Jody Watts, Hulon Thompson and Michael Kirk.
Luke was born June 6, 1949, in Samburg, son of the late F.D. and Julie (Hoffman) Alexander. He married Kay (Kirk) Alexander December 31, 1970. She survives. Luke was a retired construction worker and a commercial fisherman.
He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Tracy Hale of Troy; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jamie Alexander of Union City and Chris and Pam Alexander of Hornbeak; three sisters, Mary Chamberlain of Martin, Evelyn Homra of Reelfoot Lake and Letha Parsons of Tiptonville; five grandsons, Cody Hale and Cayden Hale both of Troy, Brier Alexander of Hornbeak, Brandon Alexander of Melbourne, Arkansas and Bradley Alexander of Obion; and two great grandsons, James Thomas "J.T." Hale of Troy and David Carter Alexander of Melbourne, Arkansas.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Floradell Rhodes; and four brothers, Tommy Alexander, Clyde Alexander, Frankie Alexander and William Alexander.
