Mrs. Louise H. Bagwell, 97, of Union City died 8:35 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Golden Living Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Hugh Barksdale will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Mrs. Bagwell was born April 12, 1913, in Memphis, daughter of the late Robert Preston and Clara Patti (Bloodworth) Houser. She married Willard Wiley Bagwell on October 27, 1934. He died December 6, 2002. She was a graduate of Murray State University and retired as a teacher with the Obion County School System after 27 years of service having taught at the former Dixie School, Woodland Mills School, Troy School and Kenton School. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the retired Union City-Obion County Teachers Association and the retired Tennessee Education Association.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Bagwell of Union City and Susan and Robert M. Robinson of Memphis; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jenny Lou Bagwell of Union City; six grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and Dan Faulkner of South Fulton, Merritt and Jennifer Bagwell of Paducah, Kentucky, Rob Robinson and Melissa Farmer both of Memphis, Amy and Scott Stewart of Tryon, North Carolina and Chris Robinson of Tampa, Florida; eight great-grandchildren, Knox Faulkner, Nolan Faulkner and Leah Beth Faulkner all of South Fulton, Evelyn Bagwell and Austin Merritt Bagwell both of Paducah, Kentucky, Luke Stewart and Jack Stewart both of Tryon, North Carolina and Grayson Farmer of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rebecca Bagwell.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Merritt Bagwell, Rob Robinson, Dan Faulkner, Nolan Faulkner, Knox Faulkner, James David Kendall and Robert Kendall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Robinson, Scott Stewart, Hoyt Giffin and member of the Wesley Dunn Sunday School class of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
