Mrs. Lou Badger, 74, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at her home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of God in Union City. Brother Norman Patton will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery with Charlie Collins, Ronnie Diemert, Dave Collins, Petty Officer First Class ND1 Michael Badger, Noah Dillard and Christopher Diemert serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at First Church of God from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Badger was born June 26, 1935, in Hickman, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ancil and Mary (Bradley) Royer. She married Roger E. Badger on April 10, 1954. He survives. She and her husband left Lake County, Tennessee to live in Detroit, Michigan for five years. Later they made their home in Valmeyer, Illinois and were the owners and operators of Foster Pond Industries for many years. After retirement they returned to Reelfoot Lake for eighteen years and hosted many, dinners and events for family and friends. They moved to Union City two years ago.

She was a member of First Church of God in Union City and had served as a church piano player for several churches in the past. Mr. and Mrs. Badger loved to travel and camp in their R.V.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Charlie Collins of Cahokia, Illinois and Dena and Ronnie Diemert of Fults, Illinois; three sons, Randy and Dianne Badger of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Andrew Badger of Bourbon, Missouri and Chris and April Badger of Newbern, Tennessee; her brother, Tom E. Royer of Port St. Lucy, Florida; three sisters, Pauline Gaskins and Alice Malooly of El Paso, Texas and Doris Phillips of Union City, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Badger Dillard; one brother and four sisters.
