Lola Alberta Smith, 89, of Union City passed away 3:06 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at The Waters of Union City.

There will be no services at this time. Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Lola was born February 7, 1931, in Florence, Alabama, daughter of the late Albert Huey and Jessie (Risner) Hunt. She married Jimmy Ray Smith January 3, 1959. He preceded her in death March 1, 2011. Lola was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughers, Judy Gierling (Jeff) of Union City and Debra Patterson of Troy; one son, Joey Ray Smith of Alabama; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters; Kathy Ott and Diane Posey; one son, Larry Smith; one granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Newton; and five brothers.
