Mr. Lionell Barnett, 91, of Union City died 12:30 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate.

There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Doughten, David Younger, Stevie Moore, Stratton Moore, Bobby Baker and Michael Fletcher.

Mr. Barnett was born June 30, 1922, in Lake County, son of the late Herman and Maude Barnett. He married Jean (Terry) Barnett October 2, 1982. She died July 12, 2013. Mr. Barnett was a retired tow boat engineer and served in the United States Army.

He is survived by two stepsons and their spouses, Terry and Jean Wright of Union City and Richard and Sheila Wright of South Fulton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Bobby Baker of South Fulton, Lisa and Michael Fletcher and Dawn and David Younger all of Troy, Casey Wright of Mississippi and Treena and Stevie Moore and Bobby and Jenni Doughten all of Union City; ten great grandchildren; and his niece, Laura Smith of Naples, Florida.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, A.D. Barnett and Billy Barnett.
