Obituary

Mrs. Linda Lou (Satterfield) Owens, 73, loving mother of Steven (Kristy) Owens and Shannon (Kevin) James and adoring wife to husband, Thomas Ray Owens, passed away at home on Thursday morning, January 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Edmaiston Mosely Funeral Home in Union City.  Pastor Shane Long and Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosely from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Trey Bunch, Greg Hammond, Brandon Hutcheson, Shane Long, Daryl Owens and Clint Wilson.

Linda was born November 13, 1951, in Ann Arbor, MI, daughter of the late Rev. Cleo Satterfield and late Sylvia Satterfield. She married Thomas Ray Owens on February 13, 1971.  Linda was influenced by her parents to serve the Lord and place her faith in Christ.  She began to worship the Lord at the young age of 9 by playing the piano at her father's church.  Sixty years later she still used her God given talent as the piano player at Healing Faith Family Worship Center where she was a member.

Linda was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend.  She taught her family about Jesus so they could form a solid biblical foundation.  She enjoyed antique shopping, gardening, and watching birds with her husband as well as spoiling her grandchildren.  Linda attended Anderson Beauty School in Ann Arbor, MI.  She was the former secretary at Trinity Worship Center for several years and retired from the former Merle Norman in Union City.

She is survived by one son, Steven Owens (Kristy) of Troy, one daughter, Shannon James (Kevin) of Union City; ten grandchildren, Jordan Jurgiel of North Hollywood, CA, Jaden Jurgiel, Jackson, Jake, Josh, Emily, Ali, and Katie James all of Union City, BayLeigh Travis of Greensboro, NC, and BryLeigh Travis of Troy;  two brothers, Steve Coble of Hillsdale, MI and Richard McKenry (Linda), Jackson, MI;  three sisters, Kathy Beaupied (Bob) of Trenary, MI, Barbara Penpraz (Will) of Grasslake, MI, and Donna Kinkaid of Lake Hamilton, FL.;  four brothers-in-law, David Owens and Charles Owens both of Union City, George Owens (Molly) of St.  Louis, Mo. and James Owens (Sue) of Gadsden, AL.;  four sisters-in-law, Nancy Davis, Valerie Johnson, Brenda Owens all of Union City, and Mary Owens of MI.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Max Lapham; one sister, Lois Mosier;  three brothers-in-law, Eugene Owens, Dale Owens and Cecil Owens; and four sisters-in-law, Thelma Ann Cook, Easter Owens, Margie Owens and Sharon Owens.
