Linda Lyon Mathenia, 81, of Union City passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at East View Cemetery. Jeff Kenee will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Linda was born February 19, 1944, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, daughter of the late Leonard Greene and Laura Elizabeth (Nail) Lyon. She had been employed at the former VF Factory Outlet in Union City and was a member of Exchange Street Church of Christ. Linda enjoyed reading, working word puzzles, cross stitching and shopping.

She is survived by one son, Ricky Mathenia and wife Vonda of Finger; one sister, Louise Mosier and husband Paul of Troy; two granddaughters, Madison Mathenia Wilkins and husband Jared and McKenzie Hurst and husband Ty all of Knoxville; one great granddaughter, Piper Ray Hurst of Knoxville; and two sisters-in-laws, Nadine Lyon of Hornbeak and Linda Lyon Johnson of Clarksville.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Lyon and Lamar Lyon.
