Linda (Poteet) Babb Gargus, 73, of Union City passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her home.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church near Union City. Rev. Terry English will officiate. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Linda was born December 18, 1946, in Union City, daughter of the late Thomas Ozel and Mary Virginia (Shands) Poteet. She was a 1964 graduate of Obion County Central High School. Linda married Billy Joe Gargus April 15, 1981. He preceded her in death December 14, 2009. Linda had been employed at the former Troy Manufacturing and retired from Martin Specialty Clinic. Linda was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Churh and the Troy Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheri Babb Mason (Steve) of Mocksville, North Carolina; two sons, John Babb (Connie) and Brian Babb (Michelle) all of Union City; she was Granny to her six grandchildren, Cameron Babb, Carter Babb and Kimberly Babb all of Union City, Blake Babb of Troy and Cody Mason and Ginny Mason both of Mocksville, North Carolina; four great grandsons, Chandler Stewart and Noah Babb both of Union City and Tucker Babb and Cooper Babb both of Troy; and one brother, Tommy Poteet (Charlotte) of Rives.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Poteet Dickson Neff.
