July 8, 1932 – August 17, 2021
Lila Skoda, 89, of Union City passed away 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church. Pastor David Appold will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday and at Faith Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.
Pallbearers will be Keith Jones, Zac Jones, Eli Jones, Will Carnes, Noah Carnes and Christian Carnes.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to T rinity Lutheran Church , 1500 US 51 Bypass, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024 or Faith Lutheran Church , 2012 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Lila was born July 8, 1932, in Green Isle, Minnesota, daughter of the late John and Minnie (Jaus) Thalman. She married Rudy Skoda June 11, 1952. He preceded her in death April 1, 2010. Lila was a retired secretary for Dr. Roger Lewis at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Lila was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dyersburg and Faith Lutheran Church in Union City. Rudy and Lila were charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Union City.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Hank Warren of Union City; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Teri Skoda of Guild, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Lisa Carnes (Will), Keith Jones (Melissa), Jordan Skoda and Steven Skoda; five step grandchildren, Kevin Jones (Mara), Darrell Jones (Nicole), Beth Dunlap (Charlie), Christy Wood (Will) and Sarah Sullivan (Carlos); three great grandchildren, Zac Jones (Carson), Katelin Jones and Eli Jones; eight step great grandchildren, Noah Carnes, Christian Carnes, Kaleigh Linton, Peyton Sullivan, Connor Gilstrap, Bella Jones, Ellie Jones and Lily Jones.
She was also preceded in death by one great grandson Samuel Keith Jones; and one sister, Valeria Bruesehoff.
