Lila (Isbell) Carman, 92, of Union City passed away 8:42 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Cemetery near Union City. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Chad Foley, Zach Sweatt, Coleman Carpenter, Jason Menees, Ja Foley, Alex Carpenter and Morgan Carpenter.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Rankin.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

She was born May 8, 1930, in Union City, daughter of the late Thurmond Richard and Mary Mae (Litton) Isbell. She married J.H. Carman December 24, 1949. He died November 29, 1968. Lila was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the former Brown Shoe Company in Union City for 28 1/2 years and was employed as a secretary at Obion County General Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital for 24 years. Lila was a member of Obion County Senior Citizens Group, a member of American Legion Auxiliary of Fulton, Kentucky, was a member of the senior circle at the former Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Kentucky and a former member of the Union City Kiwanis Club.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Neil Dodson of Troy; four granddaughters and their spouses, Jenny and Zach Sweatt of Union City, Christy and Chad Foley of Martin, Lori and Coleman Carpenter of Troy and Misty and Jason Menees of Samburg; and seven great grandchildren, Elisabeth Foley and Ja Foley both of Martin, Alex Carpenter and Morgan Carpenter both of Troy, Jillian Menees and Townes Menees both of Samburg and Benjamin Sweatt of Union City.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Lynn Isbell.
