Leroy Perryman 1926-2015
Mr. Leroy Manus Perryman, 88, of Union City passed away 11:46 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Segraves, Donald Dugger, Brad Moon, Bob Cooley, Wayne Akin, Maurice Carroll, James Bowling and Larry Doxey.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Second Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 831 N. Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261 or Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City, Tennessee 38281.
Mr. Perryman was born June 30, 1926, in Kenton, son of the late Roy and Edna (Manus) Perryman. He proudly served his country during World War II as a Merchant Marine in the Pacific. Following his service to his country, he enjoyed a successful career as a masonry contractor. He served on the board of directors of the former First Volunteer Bank in Union City. He was a loyal member of Second Baptist Church and was a charter member from its inception in 1950. Faithful to God and his church, he was a deacon and church trustee and went on many mission trips doing masonry work on churches.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy (Hammonds) Perryman of Union City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith and Libby Perryman and Kimmy Perryman all of Nashville; two granddaughters and the spouse of one, Michele Beam of Louisville, Kentucky and Melissa and Andrew Morgan of Dallas, Texas; three great grandchildren, Tyler Beam Jr. and Ellie Beam of Louisville, Kentucky and Maddie Morgan of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Jean Prather of Jackson, Mississippi; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ralph D. and Barbara Perryman of Kenton and William L. Perryman of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by one infant son, Danny Perryman.
