Lena Mai Pruitt, 97, of Union City passed away 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at AHC Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at East View Cemetery. Brother Ben Lownsdale will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Cloney Taylor, David Fowler, Roger Alexander, Jerry Sullivan, Gary Houston, Art Ross, Jody Kizer and Tim Nipp.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lena Mai was born December 12, 1925, in Obion County, daughter of the late Herman Herbert and Lillie Mai (Melton) Newsom. She married Lonnie Pruitt August 12, 1942. He preceded her in death April 22, 1974. Lena Mai had been employed at the former Salant & Salant and retired from Pioneer Seed Research. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City.

She is survived by two daughters, Hazel Jane Reid and Beverly Sutton both of Union City; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her two sons-in-law, Robert Reid and Johnny Sutton; and two sisters.
