Laymon Edward Baggett, 88, of Union City passed away 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Laymon was born August 17, 1934, in Colbert County, Alabama, son of the late William Lawson and C.O. Joyce (Triplett) Baggett. He married Betty Jane (Reeves) Baggett June 26, 1963. She survives. Laymon retired from the final finish department at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 28 years of service. Laymon's hobby was trading vehicles.

He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Riley and Traci Baggett of Union City; his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Keith Gabel of Medina; two sisters, Joyce Willingham and Nancy Darnall both of Union City; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Sharon Baggett of Parsons and Donald and Janet Baggett of Union City.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ann Goff, Martha Goff, Lucille Willingham and Sadie Williams; and four brothers, McKinley Baggett, Harold Gene Baggett, Gary Baggett and Billy Baggett.
