Obituary

Lavinia Primrose, 99, of Union City passed away 7:55 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Magnolia Place Assisted Living in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Atkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery near Clinton, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services.

Pallbearers will be Allen Primrose, Jimmy Foster, Ken Rieger, Bryan Daniel, Mason Hinton, and Jason Craig.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff at Magnolia Place Assisted Living.

Mrs. Primrose was born November 18, 1917, in Clinton, Kentucky, daughter of the late Edwin and Nora (Nall) Carter. She married Murry Thomas Primrose October 20, 1933. He passed away February 29, 1980. Mrs. Primrose was a member of Union City First United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. The love of music that was developed and encouraged by her family remained a constant throughout her life. She played the piano for the Margaret Carter, Wrather and Character Builders Sunday School classes at Union City First United Methodist Church, as well as for the congregation's children's choir and for some worship services, and she was a part of the local talent-rich Matinee Music Club. Mrs. Primrose also enjoyed entertaining her fellow residents at Magnolia Place Assisted Living playing the piano.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Alvis Daniel of Union City; five grandchildren and their spouses, Ross and Kaye Daniel of Smyrna, Cliff and Barbara Daniel of Martin, Rozanne and Ken Rieger of Union City, and Allen and Tana Primrose and Laura and Jimmy Foster all of Brownsville; several great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; step great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Primrose and David Primrose; three sisters, Eva St. Clair, Nan Spicer and Allie Johnson; and two brothers, Robert Carter and Edward Carter.
