Obituary

Mrs. Catherine Laverne Wallace, 85, of Union City passed away 5:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Union City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. David Kendall and Bill Denman will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Mrs. Wallace was born April 30, 1932, in Union City, daughter of the late Athel and Mollie (Pollard) Burress. She married Waymon Wallace December 6, 1963. He preceded her in death December 21, 2010. Mrs. Wallace had been employed in the dietary department at the former Obion County General Hospital and was a care giver for children in her home for many years. She was a member of Fremont Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Avella Bruce of Union City; her niece, Cathy Burress Massey of Union City who provided special care for Mrs. Wallace for many years; and her niece Ethelene White and her nephew and his wife, Finis and Judy Burress all of Union City who gave loving care to her while she was a resident of the Union City Manor for the past seven years; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Clarence Burress, Burthel Goode, Herman Burress and Nolie Burress.
