Mr. Larry Franklin Preuett, Sr., 70, of Hornbeak, Tn. died 1:05 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Union City. Mr. Preuett was married to the former Eva Margaret Jones of Hickman, Kentucky. They would have celebrated their fifty second wedding anniversary on November 14 th.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Rick Burton and Cress Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery near Union City.

Pallbearers will be Steven Preuett, Stanley Preuett, Freddie Preuett, Jr., Scott Preuett, Tim Thompson and David A. Russell.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Preuett was born September 11, 1941, in Obion County, son of the late Leonard and Olivia (Clemmons) Preuett of the Crystal community.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Preuett is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gene Mitchell of Atoka; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jr. and Kelly Preuett of Union City; three brothers, Jerry Preuett and Freddie Preuett, Sr. of Union City and Tommy Preuett of Ellicott City, Maryland; his sister, June Wilson of South Fulton; five grandchildren; and nineteen nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Melonie Preuett; and his brother, David Lynn Preuett.

Mr. Preuett worked as a painting contractor for almost fifty years. He was an avid horseman and showed fine harness ponies garnering numerous awards. He served as superintendent for the Obion County Fair where he was in charge of the horse shows. He served as vice president of the Obion County Saddle Club for many years. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play basketball.
