Larry Gidcumb's Obituary
Mr. John Larry Gidcumb, 80, of Union City passed away 2:10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe and Brother Steve Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers will be Harold Dunivant, Terry Mooney, Steve Jones, Glen Dowden, Bernie Cheatham, Jim Cheatham, Bobby Moultrie and Lacy Clayton.
Mr. Gidcumb was born May 24, 1936, in Norris City, Ill., son of the late Arnold and Juanita (Winfrey) Gidcumb. He married Sheila (Bobo) Gidcumb October 18, 1988. She survives. He was Vice President/Project Manager for Steel Systems for 26 years. He then worked for Universal Contractors for several years. Larry was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.
He is also survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Carla and Steve Jones of Union City and Lori Gurley of Obion; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Beverly Gidcumb of Union City; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Virginia Huges of Carmi, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by one great grandson, Drake Gurley and four brothers.
