Rev. Larry Ray Byassee, 71, of Wynnburg died Sunday, October 26, 2014, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Ridgely. He was a former resident of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland and Brother Eric Burress will officiate. Burial will follow in the Benton Cemetery in Benton, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services on Sunday November 23, 2014.
Pallbearers will be Tony Dillahunt, John Jerry Dillahunt, Terry Dillahunt, Jordan Davis, Scott Johnson and Madison Uzzle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Davis, Danny Kelly and Thomas Byassee.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to The Byasse Family Memorial, c/o BB & T, 500 Main Street, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
He was born May 6, 1943, in Clinton, Kentucky, son of the late Cecil G. and Mary (Autrey) Byassee. He married Shirley Ann (Griffith) Byassee May 14, 1966. She died October 26, 2014. Rev. Byassee served as pastor of Wynnburg Baptist Church from 2008 until the time of his death. He was also retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
He is also survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Treasa (Byassee) and Tim Beane of Hazel, Kentucky and Michelle (Byassee) and Jeremy Lyell of Hermitage; his adopted daughter and her husband, Paula and Bruce Davis of Union City; four grandchildren, Rachel Beane of Hazel, Kentucky, Chelsea Myers of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jordan Davis and Chloe Davis both of Union City; and his sister, Helen Shell of McKenzie.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Byassee, Carolyn Dillahunt and Elizabeth Nicholas; and three brothers, David Byassee, Curtis Byassee and Billy Byassee.
