Mr. Kevin Darnall "Rug" Pierson, 47, of Hickman, Ky. died 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at First Church of God in Hickman. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Brother Jason Sipes will officiate.

Mr. Pierson was born October 10, 1961, in Clearwater, Florida, son of Frederick Pierson of Union City and Brenda (Darnall) Pate of Hickman. He had been employed at SGL Carbon in Hickman and at the former General Tire Company in Mayfield, Ky. He was a member of West Baptist Church in Hickman and was an avid fisherman.

He is also survived by his daughter, Hailey Pierson of Hickman; his stepmother, Phyllis Pierson of Union City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Krystal and Don McClanahan of Fulton, Karla and Tony Fields of Hickman and Melissa and Roy Logan of the Clayton community; his grandmother, Nell Pierson of Vero Beach, Fla; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John H. Pierson and Harry and Rachel Darnall.

The family will receive friends at First Church of God in Hickman from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services on Friday.
