Mr. Kenneth Earl Sawyer, 63, of Union City died 2:13 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Sawyer's wish before his death was to have his body donated to the Forensic Anthropology Center at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
A memorial wrestling event in his honor will be held at W.O.W.F. Wrestling, 521 East Main Street, in Newbern at 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Department of Anthropology, 250 South Stadium Hall, Knoxville, Tennessee 37996-0720.
Mr. Sawyer was born January 1, 1950, in Humboldt, son of the late Malcolm Eugene and Annie Bernice (Reed) Sawyer. He was a retired employee of Kohler in Union City and was an avid wrestling fan. He was a Cumberland Presbyterian.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael Sawyer and Jamie Cullum Sawyer of Union City; his brother, Rayburn Sawyer of Kenton; two step granddaughters; and fifteen step great grandchildren.
