Kenneth Ray Northam, 83, of Troy, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Born on December 9, 1941, in Dyer County, Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Fred Lee Northam and Maggie Ellen (Edmaiston) Northam Moore and Buddy Moore. He was a devoted husband to Martha Sue (Bramlett) Northam, whom he married on November 29, 1963, and together they shared 61 wonderful years.
Kenneth was a retired general contractor and the proud owner and operator of Ken's Construction Company. His passion for building extended beyond his business as he contributed his skills to Habitat for Humanity, helping to construct homes for those in need. A talented musician, Kenneth loved to play music and sing, mastering nearly any instrument he picked up. He played in several local bands and was a cherished member of his church's music community.
In his leisure time, Kenneth enjoyed restoring antique cars and was an active member of the EZ Rodders Car Club. He also participated in The Jackson Area Plectral Society, sharing his love for music with fellow enthusiasts.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Martha Sue Northam of Troy; his daughter, Allison Richardson (Clint) of Union City; his sons, Chad Northam (Lisa) of Chattanooga and Scott Northam (Donna) of Troy. He was a proud grandfather to Marcus Marotti (Mason Kopasz) of Nashville, Rayce Northam (Kenzi) of Valmeyer, Illinois, Garrett Northam (Danielle), and Meagan Lee Northam, all of Union City. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Magnolia Northam, Emirson Northam, and Rhett Northam of Valmeyer, Illinois.
Kenneth is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Moran of Union City, Linda Fulcher of Troy, Brenda Greene (Dewayne) of Knoxville, Sherry Wade (Kevin) of Dyer, and Vicky Stewart Cutler (T.C) of Union City; his brother, Charles Northam (Barbara) of Fairfield Glade; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Marty Ray Northam, and his brothers, Tommy Northam, Jerry Northam, Larry Northam, and Terry Northam.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Greater Vision Church, officiated by Bishop Robin Rotgers. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services at the church. Kenneth will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, talent, and dedication to his family and community.
Pallbearers will be Billy Logan, Buddy Bright, Harry Johnson, Stevie Moran, Mardy Bell, Bart Cranford, John Bright, Darbin Ousley, Jason Kendall, George Neblett and Charlie Clift.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the EZ Rodders Car Club.
