Marilyn Kay (Kirk) Alexander, 69, of Hornbeak passed away 2:04 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 11:00 a.m.until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hale, Cayden Hale, Jamil Homra, Kyle Homra, Michael Kirk and John Chamberlain.
Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Chamberlain.
Kay was born March 24, 1954, in Obion County, daughter of the late Gay and Janettie (Burchett) Kirk. She married James Lewis "Luke" Alexander December 31, 1970. He preceded her in death November 26, 2017. Kay enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, fishing and taking care of the animals on her farm. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Missy Hale of Troy; two sons, Jamie Alexander of the Shawtown community and Chris Alexander of Hornbeak; six grandchildren, Cody Hale, Cayden Hale, Brandon Alexander, Bradley Alexander, Brier Alexander and Gracie Ann Alexander; and four great grandchildren, J.T. Hale, Michelle Hale, David Carter Alexander and Journey Alexander.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ricky "Smurf" Kirk, John Merz Kirk and Michael Lewis Kirk.
