Obituary

September 29, 1954 was the day that the late Harold and Frankie France welcomed their first child, Katrina Elaine. A few years later little brother, Michael, was born and the family was complete.

On a fall day in 1975 Katrina met Donald Dugger at the Obion County Fair. After a long dating period of 9 days they became engaged. A few months later on November 29, 1975 they were married and despite 3 hoodlum kids, they stayed that way.

Kyle Michael arrived first, Kurt Vernon was second and the cherry on top, Beth Paige, arrived last. Two additional sweet babies have been waiting all these years in heaven to meet their Mama-how beautiful was that reunion!

Katrina was also reunited with her parents, grandparents and other dear ones on November 18, 2023. This occurred after a short lifetime Earthside-but the timing was still perfect, as are all things that our Father allows and plans for.

During the short 69 years of life, Katrina worked as a dental assistant for quite a few years. She eventually chose to switch careers and go into interior painting. She never lacked for work, never got a bad review and proved that a good job could be done in a timely manner. Probably her favorite job of all was being Mamie to Levi Dugger, Patrick Dugger, Jonathon Brown, Keaten Brown, bonus boys Kweli Purifoy, Jacob Arnold and an absolute host of others. Radar Dugger, her favorite granddog, has also been an important family member.

As Mamie many hours were logged at the t-ball filed, baseball field, basketball court, track field and cross country course. Watching the boys at their variety of sporting events was a favorite thing-no matter how hot, cold, wet, dry, windy, dark, or sunny it was.

Other parts of her life include many, many years as the Royal Ambassador leader at Second Baptist Church and many, many years as the Bible Drill leader also at Second Baptist. There was always a personal mission to serve at church-and the amount of kids that she taught over the course of those years can't be counted. Katrina's mission was God's commission.

In addition to her husband Donald, kids and grandkids, Katrina leaves daughter-in-love, Betsy, wife of Kyle, son-in-love, Stevie, husband of Beth, brother Michael France and wife Melissa, her forever friend, Sally Goodman, a collection of uncles, Tommy Carpenter and Henry Carpenter, Aunt Maggie Lou Brasfield, many cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, a group of rock solid friends and an innumerable amount of kids and young adults she loved like family.

The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Cancer Center at Duke University has a special place in our hearts. There are not enough words to show thanks to the doctors and nurses who give their best every day to spread hope in dire situations. Flowers are beautiful and have their place, but please consider donating to the continued search for a cure for glioblastoma. You can donate at The Tisch Brain Tumor Center , Box 3624 DUMC, Durham, NC 27710. Please also consider donating to the Youth Department at Second Baptist Church , 831 Everett Blvd., Union City, Tn 38261.

The fight is over-the war is won. Glioblastoma did not have the final victory. Please join us at Second Baptist Church Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate a life well lived.
Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

'And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither our fears for today not our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love"     Romans 8:38
